The application

Set yourself apart

Follow the instructions on the job posting to apply for the role. Keep your resume to no more than two pages and list your education, professional experience, and any other accomplishments or interests you feel are relevant. We will send a confirmation that your application was received.

If your qualifications meet the requirements for the role, you may be invited for a brief virtual screening interview. We will get to know each other, answer your questions about the role, and explain the next steps in the hiring process.

The interview

Meet the team

If we think we might be a good fit together, we may invite you for one or more interviews. You may meet the department head, and the hiring manager during your interview. You may be asked behavioural based question, to present a case, or to analyze a case.

We have found our ideal candidate. If that's you, you will receive a verbal offer from human resources, or our recruiter.

Prepare to succeed

  • Keep your resume to a maximum of two single sided pages.

  • List items in chronological order.

  • Include your full name, email, address, and optionally your LinkedIn profile.

  • Include your education and certifications.

  • Include your professional experience. Outline role specific skills, value added responsibilities, accomplishments, and achievements. Where warranted include KPIs and quantifiable results.

  • Optionally include community involvement, extra-curricular activities, and interests.

  • Test that your audio, video, microphone, screen sharing equipment is working well.

  • Minimize background noise and avoid distractions.

  • Maintain eye contact by looking at the camera.

  • Have the conference call number ready in the event of an internet disruption.

  • Communicate your responses using the situation, task, action, results (STAR) method.

  • Arrive at your interview 15 minutes in advance.

  • Provide thorough responses with relevant examples of practical experience.

  • Use the opportunity to ask questions about the role to assess if you are a good match for Granite and for the role.

  • If you remain interested in the role after the interview, send a brief note to the hiring managers expressing your continued interest, and thanking them for their consideration.
